Peter Jackson to Return for The Hobbit?
Source: Los Angeles Times, Stuff.co.nz
August 10, 2007
New Line Cinema has given "The Lord of the Rings" fans, who want to see director Peter Jackson return for The Hobbit, some hope. Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, studio founder Bob Shaye commented on the matter:
Eager to move ahead with "The Hobbit," New Line has quietly been trying to mend fences with "Rings" filmmaker Peter Jackson, who has sued the company over his share of profits from the first "Rings" films. When asked if it was true that company insiders had been in talks with Jackson's reps, Shaye replied, "Yes, that's a fair statement. Notwithstanding our personal quarrels, I really respect and admire Peter and would love for him to be creatively involved in some way in 'The Hobbit.'"
According to Stuff.co.nz, Ian McKellen also said there was no doubt that a rumored reprisal of his Gandalf role in a film version of The Hobbit would be discussed with Jackson and [Fran] Walsh.
The site contacted Jackson's spokesman, who added: "Peter and Fran have always wanted to do 'The Hobbit' but whether that happens is yet to be decided."

Hobbit studio sweet-talks Jackson
Peter Jackson may make The Hobbit after all, despite a financial battle with the studio that commissioned him to film The Lord of the Rings.
Bob Shaye, head of New Line Cinema, has told The Los Angeles Times that the studio - which Jackson has sued for profits from The Lord of the Rings trilogy - has been in talks with Jackson's representatives in a bid to mend fences and get him to direct The Hobbit.
"Notwithstanding our personal quarrels, I really respect and admire Peter and would love for him to be creatively involved in some way in The Hobbit," Mr Shaye said.
He had previously labelled Jackson as "arrogant", while Jackson and partner Fran Walsh took the unusual step of issuing a long statement on the internet last year declaring that because of clashes with New Line they had "no choice but to let the idea of a film of The Hobbit go".

New Affiliate and Layout adoption
Welcome to Jewel@ Legolas and Arwen!
Made a layout that I decided not to use, seems a waste to just delete so I'm putting it up for adoption. Grima themed layout is simple but there ya go.

Update
Did some organizing, condensed some of the sub-links so the menu doesn't expand so long.
Saw OOTP last night with my 15 yo daughter, it was awesome! Both my daughters (did I just give away my age lol) are HUGE HP fans, they are foaming at the mouth for the last book. I haven't read them but I sure do love the movies.
Thats all for now.

Update
Applied for affiliation with Alcarinquë The Women of Middle-earth. Lots of great info from the books, The Silmarillion and The Unfinished Tales (two of my favorite books!)
Still trying to figure out what the prob is with the site alignment on IE 6. Playing around with margins and padding had no effect.
Added a new contact form with captcha, hopefully this cuts down on spam and hopefully visitors dont mind the extra step to send mail.

New Layout
:Edit: got the funky css stuff fixed. Hope the layout is pleasing. There are some issues with internet explorer (margin,padding,position?) who knows. Haven't been able to figure it out yet. Best viewed in Firefox
Well, I didn't go with a Grima theme after all. Still have alot of tweaking left to do, css isn't looking so hot in some of the pages for some reason.

An actual update...kind of
Since Im stuck on the new layout thing, thought I would add another section. Will be sharing some of the neat scripts I use in Site Goodies under "Site".

Updated nothing update
OK so I'm still trying to figure out what to do for a new layout.
I think I want it wider, been playing around with the width you can see it here [link removed]Wider layout of course this doesn't even address the actual layout
but its a start? Ignore all the borders, thats so i can see where everything is aligned, oh and the layout that doesn't fit.
I'm thinking something with Grima but I dunno. ::sigh::

Really old updates (the ones I didn't lose) pre-cute news
Jan 31 2007
[Later that afternoon Steelsheen visits her website and notices...]
Oddly enough my original visitor count is showing on all the sub-pages but not the index page hhmmm wierd, don't know how to fix it so I guess that's the way it will stay.
~~~~~~~~~~
Had to redo my counter, messed it up somehow. I think I have it semi-fixed, hopefully the date doesn't change again and of course I lost my new count lol oh well.
I have finished a simple layout for this domain, so steelsheen.com will no longer point to this website. Please visit and bookmark the new sub-domain
Found the most awesome php counter from
eKstreme.com. No need for a data base, easy install, counts page views and easy to read log files and its free! I tried to install so many different counters, I almost gave up. It's nice to not have to use the bravnet counter or any other "hosted" counter.
I suppose it was rather ambitious of me to try a php based counter, seeing as I just figured out php, just shows how easy it was. I haven't figured out how to restore my original visitor count of 12636 but this program is just to cool to not use.
Jan 21 2007
I'm thinking of moving this site to a sub-domain "palespring". So I can free up steelsheen for overall domain info, new sites ect. I really like the way
Ariah's has her domain set up.
Worried about my "mystery meat" navigation. Description comes up if you put your cursor over each item but it may be to obscure for some. Should I go back to plain old "site" "links" ect??
Ripped out Viggo singing at his coronation, you can hear it in the lyrics section under "Song". Thinking of adding a zip file to the lyrics section of the clips featured there, for anyone wanting the songs.
Font section back up, under "The Wold". Still trying to decide what to keep and lose in this section. The wallpapers I made were just stupid, I'm not very imaginative in this area I guess.
Added a mail form on the contact page, tagboard and physical email still there for "back-up" :) and of course the page doesn't validate now! Oh well, nobodies perfect :)
YAY! Finally found a menu that works!(and I actually got it to work!) Please allow a "session cookie" from my site to see how it stays persistant when you move from page to page.
Most links are back up, with most redone (yikes, what a mess that was).I hope to keep a cleaner house from now on. Moved the tag board to the contact page, and noticed popups (arrrhhgg) sorry 'bout that folks.
Jan 12 2007
Have removed the old site. Still have some work to do on this one, its alittle jumpy when switching between pages, probably messed up margin or padding pixels somewhere.
Jan 7 2007
Discovered my first issue, well I should say an IE issue. Special characters, like the tiddle over the E in Eowyns name show as an I, not sure how other browsers are interpeting it, feedback appreciated! Don't know how to fix that as of yet sooooo site best viewed with firefox.
My first PHP site! only took me a month to figure it all out lol, talk about work! lol, just trying to learn it was pretty interesting. Layout
is alittle bland perhaps but it is my fist! :) I may try to add "real" skins some day, need to get comfy with php first.
Still to be seen if I've done everything correct. I wanted my side menu to stay open when clicked but as of yet I haven't figured out
how to do that, in my framed site it was easy (heh, another thing I couldn't figure out.. how to mingle php with iframes) anyhoo, hope you enjoy
the new layout. Any issues, please contact me.
Not entirely complete (some links not working yet) but I'm working on it. Old site is still around for now, where most everything is still accessible, here
Old Steelsheen
Enjoy!
